Cherry Blossom Festival

Jefferson Memorial

Washington D.C. cherry blossoms

The Yoshino cherry trees in D.C. are in full bloom right now, in perfect timing with the National Cherry Blossom Festival. I recommend seeing the tidal basin area half an hour before sunset. The sight of all the cherry blossoms glowing in the golden light is spectacular.

Ah, I was in the area last week... and I saw from the distance the colors of the blooming cherries... Unfortunately I didn't have time to cross the river and spend some time there. Now that I see your photos I regret it even more...

Wonderful shot. I especially like the top one. I have always tried to make the blossom festival, but I keep missing it.

The top shot is perfect. One of the best shots I've ever seen of the DC cherry blossoms.
