Swimming in Color

From what I've seen, it doesn't look like a particularly good year for colorful autumn foliage in our area. But at least the weather today was gorgeous, allowing me to go out and enjoy the scenery with my camera. This leaf was drifting past the reflection of the only colorful tree at the edge of the pond.

Suspended in a bath of gorgeous color - nicely seen and refreshingly different fall photo fare :-)

The texture of the water seems so soft - too bad I know it's so cold! The orange is vibrant, but I really love how there are spots of equally intense blue in there, as well.
By the way - the "caught my eye" links are great. Most informative : )

Really nice. You're looking beyond the obvious to get the colors in your photo.

Don't worry, it's still early. Last year the great colors didn't hit until later in November.
(Hey, how come you can post to your blog, and I haven't been able to post for several days... Sigh... Apparently there are "kinks" being ironed out.)

Beautiful flow and vibrant colour in the reflected light!
Not much colour here, just spot of it. I'm debating going out on a rare dry patch and collecting leaves to do still life shots in studio for something different in the rain! The rain itself is probably keeping the leaves greener so I'm really hoping for that dry patch!

This was a different and unique way of photographing the fall. Very nice! Beautiful colors.

Beautiful! Indeed, a unique take on the subject and very ethereal. Lovely color combinations. :)

That background is almost surreal, looks like a computer generation with the leaf infront.

The colors of that tree are quite beautiful, and the water of the pond, mixes them in even a more exceptional way.

I'm a presentation designer at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, writing to inquire about permission to use your "Fall leaf floating" image in an upcoming presentation on November 17, 2007. The presentation celebrates the work of Eero Saarinen, who (among many other accomplishments) designed our campus.
Eero Saarinen designed some of our buildings with special kiln fired bricks, emulating the colors of fall; rich blues, oranges, reds, yellows, greens, etc. Your "Fall leaf floating" perfectly captures these colors.
I'd like to use your leaf image as a (brief) backdrop, setting the stage, so to speak, then fade it back and superimpose our own pictures of the buildings showing the brilliant brick colors.
Would you please respond with whether or not this would be acceptable, and (if so) do you have a release form/acknowledgement of such permission?
Of course, "used by permission of XXX," or "photo courtesy of XXX," or "photo copyright XXX," (however you'd prefer) would appear on the photo within the presentation.
Thank you in advance.
Cordially,
Daniel
