Red Chairs

red chairs

My latest excuse for not having updated this blog in ages is that I've been sick for the past week. Visual Field caught it from me after I became ill but somehow he managed to bounce back from it after two days, whereas I still haven't completely recovered. LuminousLens suggested that stress may be making things worse for me. She may be right, but I can't imagine what might be stressing me out right now...except, say, the fact that I'm supposed to be finishing up my Ph.D. in the next few months. Oh yeah, that might be it.

So, for a number of different reasons, I haven't had my mind on photography much lately, but in the interest of keeping the blog going, I'll dig into the old stuff for a while until I get back on my feet. I took this photo in the basement of Levering Hall at JHU back in January.

We've definitely all been there. May was pretty rough for me as I wrapped up a not so fabulous school year. Yesterday was the first day in ages I got to get back out there and shoot. So post when you can and know it will all be over soon and you'll have a Ph. D. on the other side.

Hope you're better now.

i visit your photoblog regulary and some times i leave comment but today i read your 'about'. if you use a D70 instead of EOS 300 it make a doubt to me that 'you' are 'me'. if you are doing your PhD at the Bartlett, UCL, i need to chack my camera probably it is a EOS 300!!

Oh, yes I remember the feeling: when I was at the end of my Ph.D. I was feeling sick all the time. Physically sick, as all my energies were drawn to the thesis work leaving me exhausted and more vulnerable. I like this photo very much, for the color contrast, the composition, and the unusual light set that makes if very dynamic. It a very professionally composed shot!
