Gerber Daisies

gerber daisies

I haven't taken photos since my trip to FL. I can't figure out why, but I just haven't been in the mood for photography lately. But yesterday, VF got me some gerber daisies, and I just couldn't resist taking the camera off the shelf. For this shot, I put the vase of flowers on top of a large sheet of white paper by the window to catch some bright late morning light.

I don't understand. How can it be that they look so much like they are popping out at me? :)

Great perspective!
Has a 3-D feel!

I love how you used the shadow and solid white background; they really do feel like they're coming out of the screen.

Wow, it's beautiful despite being taken out of it's natural environments. The white background really works. :)

phnatastic sharpen - and i love the effect of the shadow on the white background.

Posted by: grapf at May 21, 2005 1:05 PM

that is really sweet. Looks like an advert - the pure white background and the isolation from the rest of the image is excellent.

Wonderful work. It really looks more like a studio shot. Great colour and texture, along with fabulous depth.

~outstanding...simply eye candy~

Good composition, lighting and colours. The way the vast is hidden behind the flowers is good to.

Posted by: yungyaw at May 25, 2005 1:39 AM

Tasty goodness - wonderful that we can't really see the vase...the flowers are springing up from nothingness!

Posted by: Turfdigger at May 26, 2005 10:53 AM

Amazing photo. The colors, clarity and idea are all wonderfully well done.

i usually find flower shots pretty boring, but this is charming! it does look like a studio shot. big bit of white paper and the sun. good idea.
