Jolly Abstract

A pseudo-painting made with Jolly Rancher candies. Apparently, they're now cylindrical instead of the old boxy shape I was used to as a kid. I also have an alternative version posted here, so if you have a preference between these two please let me know.

This is great! When I first saw it, I thought it was some kind of thick paint; the textures make them look like brush strokes rather than candies. Not so much in the alternate version.

I LOVE this photo! It is so fun, and I can taste it too!

Like ViSuaLLyMiNDeD, I thought at first that this was paint. I never would have guessed Jolly Ranchers if you hadn't told us what it was. But it's a pretty cool result. What was your light source underneath?
(I like this brighter version than the other version you linked to.)

That's what I thought too--that the candy looked like paint in the version I posted, and a little more like candy in the alternative. Yes, both versions were illuminated from underneath. For the second version, I also added a light source above.

cool image! I like the sharpness on this one better.

Now if Jolly Rancher ever decided to go for an upscale ad campaign, this would be the perfect backdrop - really inventive approach! This is a beautiful playground for the eyes:-)

Love this one better, this patten is amazing, looks like an abstract painting (a more bright Rotko maybe?) Great, great!

Prefer this version, very well done.

I definitely like the "paint" one more than the "candies" one.

Very luminous and charged with colour. Would we be looking at the product of a flatbed scanner as camera perhaps?

Phil, actually no, but that's an interesting idea! I took this picture with a camera. It looks luminous because I placed the candies on a light box and turned off the other lights in the room.

Nice photo,
I like the first one better, it has more depth.

Really loved the pic :)
Would you mind if I used it as my hi5's background?
Thanks.
